Another area of concern to the park is community capacity in the conservation of natural resources. Eco-tourism opportunities afford local communities the means of support, and would thus not have to rely on the forest resources again or exploit them.
Challenges
Human-Wildlife Conflict : The high population density of people around the park increases the likelihood of the people encroaching the territory of the wild animals such as tigers and elephants leading to conflict. The public and private leaders are still searching for ways to reduce these conflicts through improved management and people’s enlightenment.
Poaching : As you are already aware, poaching of animals and other unlawful hunting practices especially targeting tigers and their food chains were still apparent. To reduce this problem, there is a need to improve the security in the protected areas, and enforce laws on the protection of wild animals.
Habitat Degradation : There are threats present in the park wherein various ecosystems may be affected by such factors like deforestation, encroachment, and changes in the natural environment.
